Rear backup sensors

Look into adding EchoMaster Sensors. they are great aftermarket sensors. Ford uses them for their OE solution

The parking sensors are great (no clue about EchoMaster) but glad the 4Runner has them since I have a small 1.5 car garage full of Vespa's and I use the sensor daily squeezing in, who knew I would like that feature - my op it's worth it to add them if it can be done

If you're using the camera or mirrors to backup and not turning around then you're doing it all wrong.

Maybe you can teach me what I'm doing wrong.. I come from a Tacoma DCLB with camper.. Most of the time, turning around won't get you that much with over 8 ft between you and the back of the vehicle...

I have parking sensors on my truck, and it's good addition to the camera. But I find sensors too slow to react, I had sonar on Ford before and it was way more responsive.
So if I was to install sonar I would probably look first for 3rd party sonars. Toyota ones are OK but not the best ones for sure.

I just had rear sonars installed today by a third party, the sensor covers were matched to my bumper's color, looks great and he hid the speaker behind the headliner. It's hidden, yet I can clearly hear it. I'm pleased, $350.

I was looking at Amazon and so far the ones I have seen only seem to have rear sensors with a 2.8 meter range.

On my wife's 2014 RAV4 it also has side sensors that can detect a vehicle speeding up or down the street we back into. It can sense from a much greater distance. With three vehicles in the driveway it's a nice feature. My wife has commented that I rarely look at the backup camera, I always turn my head to see behind me. I reply that the camera can't see up and down the street. the sensors do beep though. the side mirror warning is also nice.

So far I haven't seen one like that unless I need a different search term than sonar backup sensor.

Our 2013 SR5 has it. It's activated by a button in front of drivers left knee. it has a P))) on it. Only works in reverse obviously and manual gives the distances for the rear and rear corner sensors along with the beeps for each.

That's pretty damn far, man. 9 feet? 2015 Chevy Tahoes only seem to work from about 3 feet.

It's called echo master. I'm not sure where he purchased the color matching sensor covers though.....

I ended up going to Amazon China edition to order a backup and side collision detection system. It has 4 rear and two side sensors. It has lights for the A pillars. I couldn't find one in the US that wasn't marked up 200%. They had a choice of White, black or silver sensors. I chose white.

It's like the pic below except 6 sensors.

They have different sets if you want the front sensors. I didn't order them. Make sure you look closely at the details with the amount of sensors and what is included. Don't rely on the pictures. The set I ordered was $154 with free shipping. When you receive it have fun reading the installation instructions with all the warnings. The translations are a hoot.

No matter what kit you go with make sure to pick up some zip ties with mounting pads. I started installing it today and there's not really any good place to tie up the wiring harness in the bumper. With these you can tie them and stick them to the inside of the bumper.

There doesn't seem to be much product reviews on aftermarket sonar's.

I have a 2016 Trail, doesn't come with Sonar. I'm looking to install front and rear sonar's. I live in a dense city, so Mon-Fri it's a heck of a pain to park in some of these tight underground spots where barely a Corolla can fit. What I'm looking for:

1. Front and Rear Sonar Sensors
2. Best Quality and Reputation- I'm willing to pay decent money if it can get me a better product. I don't want no generic brand from china.

I'm pretty certain I can't wire the Toyota sonars to the dash (like what they have in the limited version), or I could be wrong. I haven't seen anyone do this where its a plug and play upgrade from their sr5 to limited version on the 2014-2016's.

Any help would be appreciate on reputable brands. I don't need a screen, just a simple sound would suffice.

Thanks in advance. The shops locally here only carry cheap ones that are rear only.

This^^ Im pretty sure that the trail premium doesn't have any parking assist as far as sensors or a beeper noise

my 17 trd off road does not beep when backing up close.... almost found out the hard way...

Seriously doubt it. Base models don't even have wires for the auto dim mirror inside or outside turn signal mirrors. And this is beyond simple wiring, these will require some sort of control module other trims almost certainly won't have.
