Rear bumper cover crack repair

I got a small crack maybe 4-5 inches long in the rear bumper cover of my 2014 Limited from backing into something. Took the vehicle to a couple of shops and they all want to replace the bumper cover and repaint which seems over the top for something so small. I am not looking for perfection but it seems I should be able to glue it back somehow, maybe I would need to remove the bumper and put some epoxy from the back? Anyone ever repair something like this themselves?

the reason they want to replace it is because plastic repair is a lot of work and doesn't usually look great when complete. it won't be that much cheaper because of the labor and still needing to be painted.

if you get on google you can probably find somewhere near you that does plastic bumper repair

This will work- I filled in some holes on my front bumper and it worked great. Kit comes with a mesh screen to help fix cracks like you describe.

Any autoparts store should have it.

As already said repairing bumpers is expensive to do it well it's a lot of labor. You can use the kit above or better would be buy a cheap plastic welder. It's basically a soldering iron with a flat tip. But you will still have the paint problem.

Thanks for the plastic welder - I looked it up but I am not sure I want to take the chance of creating more of a mess. The crack is very defined - if I press the bumper, the cracked parts fit back well together - no plastic came off or anything. I am hoping once the crack is epoxied, it will just look like a hairline and hoping to do maybe a quick touchup job or leave it as is- I have the blizzard pearl so I don't know if trying a touch up will make it look worse. I really don't want to spend $1000 just to fix this. Only thing I don't know is if whether it will eventually recrack due to heat/cold weather.

the quick touchup still means filler and paint

If you just want to glue it back together, just remove the cover and epoxy the backside of it
