I have 3 milk crates zip-tied together in a line, mainly to put groceries or other things in which I don't want rolling around. You could use only 2 or even one, if you preferred. Cheap. Come in any color.
It looks like you're a zip-tie fan, already: is that a folded dog kennel, zip-tied to a makeshift bamboo roof rack from Gilligan's Island?
