I kind of forgot about this thread. After having some seat time with the 2890 ome springs, I feel like they were a great upgrade for the extra weight over the 2906.
For a close to level, daily driving, some wheeling, without lots of weight (stock skids and such)on a 2” lifted 3rd gen, it’s almost perfect. It’ll hit the bump stops more and more as weight in gear and armor goes on.
The 2890 ome did add a lot of lift though. Definitely has a rake now even with weight. I’m starting to rebuild the front end with all new Toyota lower arms, JBA uppers, and I’m planning to move the 6112 coils up to the 2.3” from 2” to see if that gets it about at the right ride height. It’s really cushy thought for the high speed rally stuff.
The 2890 did reduce the bottom outs greatly. It feels like a lot of travel was added since it’s not constantly hitting the Duro bumps now. A sway bar adjustment was needed though, which helped the added body roll greatly. I have an eimkeith PCK on order to hopefully alleviate the body roll since the added ride height with the 2890. I’m sure the rear end bushings are also shot.
