Rear coil vs. spacer

So after going back and forth on different lift options, I'm planning to go with the Toytec Ultimates up front with the 5100s (all around). My question is how would adding a rear spacer on top of the 5100s run versus going with rear coils with the 5100s?

I'm looking for a subtle lift (about 2" to 2.25" up front) and don't plan to add any weight. And it's my understanding that most of the rear coils will add 2" of lift. I'm only looking to lift the rear 1" - 1.25" which is why I'm considering the spacer option.

Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks.

Do you plan on using the lift offroad or just for looks?

Some offroad (5% of time) but nothing extreme (no rock crawling, etc.). Mostly limited to dirt roads/trails that lead to camping/hiking sites.

I did just what you are looking for, but, used 5100's all around with new colis and springs.
Lift/level looks good and the ride has improved greatly. No regrets-
Love it.

I purchased the complete ulitmate lift kit from toytec but decided not to put the back springs on because I didnt raise the front end the full 3 inches. I ended up buying a set of 1? or 1.25? inch spacers for the back. It rides nice so the new toytec rear springs are collecting dust in my garage.

There are a few companies that offer spacer kits. Toytec offers some, ui thought. Daystar. Check Wheelers, too

Personally, I think spacers are rubbish. But if the vehicle if going to see very little off road use, I guess it's fine.

No worries OSUCowboy - I went with Cornfed.

The4kbeast - I would've rather gone with rear coils to complement everything else but couldn't find any that only gave 1" to 1 1/4" of lift in back. After finding a few comments here on the forum and speaking with Toytec - it sounds like the rear suspension on the 5th gens is sound enough that it should (I hope) work fine with the spacer.
