You can always buy a bottoming tap and clean the threads up yourself. You shouldn’t have to, but it’s easier to buy them already coated than to get them coated yourself. Pretty sure the banjo is M10x1.0, but verify that before cutting any threads. Use some grease on the tap to catch the shavings and blow the hole out with air to remove the rest.

After a bit of research, most 94-98 Cobra calipers are M10-1.0 fine pitch thread (some 99's use this too) Ford went to the M10-1.5 course thread for the later years. Folks are just going to have to check and confirm. This is the problem that I believe kramer03 may have had.

That's good information to have. I had the 04' calipers and we tried both the M10x1.5 and the M10x1.0 just to be on the safe side. The M10x1.5 did thread into one lone caliper but none of the other 04' calipers would accept it. We also tried a bunch of other fittings to see if by chance something else would work on the defective ones and got nothing. It was probably just a bad batch that they had from the manufacturer. Just thought I'd share my experience with them so those who decide to use them could check before diving into the project.

Your info was pure gold. I definitely would have started the project without the banjo bolts and my normal luck would have been to have defective calipers, too. Thanks for sharing, that's what make this forum invaluable!

I got rear calipers from the junkyard for 40 bucks, 15 bucks for 2 rebuild kits, 40 bucks for caliper brackets, 19 bucks for pads, 35 bucks for 2 rotors, and around 100 bucks for line fittings and ss lines (going different then what midcoma offers).

So around 550 bucks. I already have new wheel bearing and seals as I was going to do them well before this swap was put into motion.

I'm just waiting for this insane heat and humidity to go away, then I'll install it all.

ANother Question Midcoma i have a lift on my rig 3 inch total chaos Long travel Kit with heim joints King 2.5 inch coil overs fornt and year with extra goodies running 33 inch tires will the custom translucent red lines with green conetors need to be longer then standred?

No, as long as you're running the factory rear axle everything will fit fine. I'm not providing brake lines for the front so nothing will change up there.

question anybody give me more details on the TBU mod I would like to upgrade the front braking I no matter how many sets of calipers I install have a bad problem with inner pads wearing more then outer pads and never liked the peddle feel and wanting more stopping power for my custom rig with lift and long travel front suspension master cylinder used that works well with the TBU as well as what I need to get the TBU setup Acomplished and parts list if can be offered would be amazing just installed new brake booster few weeks ago appreciate your time

No, as long as you're running the factory rear axle everything will fit fine. I'm not providing brake lines for the front so nothing will change up there.

During R&D which M/C did you use, any 01-02. any 01-02 kits sold?
With new MC system split rear lines Toyota downsized wheel cylinder 1" to 7/8".
Knew this doing a Locker axle rebuild swap into 01, didn't think much about it.
Ended up going with the 7/8" bore WC to get bias corrected under ABS conditions, new system quirks.
What can of worms can I open here, wouldn't hurt my feelings to pull nanny trac vsc shiite.

During R&D which M/C did you use, any 01-02 kits sold?

I use a 1.125" bore master cylinder from a 1990 Ford F350. The ABS system is completely removed from my 4Runner.

So far I've sent 3 kits for 01-02 vehicles. Hopefully we'll get some good feedback once those kits are installed.

On another note, the EBC Yellowstuff pads are way better than the Hawk HPS. Much better initial grab and more confidence inspiring pedal feel.
