rear LCA mounts, repair or replace?

I'm trying to figure out what I need to do about my rear lower LCA mounts. They have pretty much been torn to hell at this point.

What are my best options as far as replacing the whole mount with something with a little more beef? I don't know of any aftermarket so I'm guessing this would be a custom job.

I could also try to repair my current mounts and plate them, but I'm not sure if they are beyond the repair stage.

Anyways, here is what I'm working with. What does T4R think?

To prevent this from happening others should buy some Lotus Control arm mount skids. You can buy them direct from their website, or off Amazon for free shipping.

To the OP, I'd say its repairable. You can weld a nice plate on the front side of it.

I would just buy Lotus RCAMS and put them over the existing mount. I wouldn't mess with trying to cut that one off and recreating it, i would hate for you to mess up your link geometry.

I've beat the snot out of my set and there are only superficial scratches and gouges in them. They've been repainted a few times to keep the rust at bay.

Yeah I had seen the lotus skids, but as I've been adding parts they have just gotten pushed back on the list. I didn't think those mounts would be as much of rock magnets as they are. too late now.

I reckon the easiest way to go about it is straighten out what I can and throw the lotus mounts over top as NateMob suggested.

I really need to look into getting a gas tank skid plate too. My factory skid looks like Godzilla ate it and shat it out.

their shop is only a 30-40 min drive for me

Youch Graham! I take it that someone went to Richland again since the last time we went? haha. I'd go with the lotus skids as recommended already. I might have to as well if I dare to go braver with the rig.

Haha nope, all previous damage. I'm just getting around getting everything fixed with the warner weather coming up.

At least you get to see first hand what bends and brakes before you build yours up!

Well I'm pretty sure I have seen some people on the forum say they have them or that they offer them, but didn't see them on the site. Ill call and investigate sometime this week.

Yeah Bud has never offered a 3rd gen gas tank skid. He has some for the newer models and at one point they said they were going to do a 3rd gen. But I'm pretty sure they've never sold any.

You may want to trim the parts rubbing on the control arms before installing the skids. The mounts do look beat up but, from the pictures, the mounts don't look tweaked out form original position.

Worst case, mount the skids and weld them on.

Thanks sn0wrunner. Bud does not make a gas tank skid, but I do. We have been beating on ours for a few years and they still look great.

Ok yeah no offense to y'all. your skids look great and I know lots of people run them with great results. I just figured I would check local first if I could.
