Rear Lower Shock Guard for King 2.5?

Hey guys
Can anyone confirm ICON shin guards fitment with KING 2.5 rears?
FJ Toyman looks tough but no real shaft protection from pitting.. I'm leaving boots as a Plan B

The Icons are not compatible.

OP here. I ended up just installing cheap Procomp blue boots sliced along the length and zip tie. They may tend to catch and accumulate mud and stuff at the bottom since they kind of make a little pouch collector but I know they will do a great job protecting against the sand pitting. I really like the FJ Toyman skids and how they mount with the side bolt is excellent protection.

good call on the shaft protection
I've got my sliced boots attached pretty low, to keep some junk from hitting the lower spherical bearing. unfortunately with the kings, the lower rod end bearing is the larger 16T ($$$) instead of the com10T.

Compatible with parking brake lines?
To the OP's question, how is anybody else running the Icon guards to be compatible with their parking brake lines (driver's side, especially)?
No photos since I just dry fit them before trying to bolt them on last week, but it seems with moderate travel, the Icon design would jam right up to the parking brake sheaths.
Running a Radflo LT setup, but I'd imagine most any other manufacturer is going to be similar.

I just looked at mine after the first trip and I see minor pitting. Would like a more permanent solution than rubber decking material Ben @ Filthy suggests.

King is releasing a Coilover shaft guard kit along with a Smoothie Shaft Guard kit for the rear. I have a feeling they will not be cheap.

Icon shin guards DO NOT fit King 2.5s
I can tell you with 100% certainty that the icon shock guards don’t fit king 2.5s... that was a waste of $125... I “modified” them to fit and they lasted one light wheeling trip.. they are destroyed now and had to come off. Modifying them didn’t work either because the “shin” was too short.. got bent in and contacted the shock body. I’m ordering a set of fjtoyman skids and will probably modify those with a shaft protection shin. I’m not bashing the icon guards the lower eye of the kings is just not what they were designed to fit and because I modified them they ended up being a pile of crap. No fault of anyone but me. Just thought I would let anyone know who was looking for a definitive answer. I’ll end up throwing the icons on my wife’s stock 5th gen.

FJToyMan guards have been awesome. They are visually sand blasted and the beautiful blue paint is not so pretty anymore, but functionally perfect. My cheap Procomp shaft guard zip tied in place has also performed perfectly and is providing full protection for the shaft. I really see no benefit to a metal shin guard when a cheap replaceable one works probably better.

They require updated rod mounts to work. I was in SoCal and had them remove and replace my rod ends and then I could add the shaft guards.

Any idea what's different on the rod ends for this to work? My setup is less than a year old

There's a machined groove that allows the shock guard to lock into.
It's what prevents the shock guard from coming off, the cross screw just tensions it in place.
