rear seat questions

I want to replace the split, cloth backed rear seat in an '88 SR5 with one of the solid, steel backed one. Will any year '84-'89 seat work? How hard would it be to change it out?

Yes.
I would think finding the kind of seat you want to put in would be the hardest part.
