Rear Toyota emblem removal. The 5 min DIY

This DIY write up took more time than the actual procedure but if it can help one person then it was worth it Ok so anyway, after Plasti-dippin' my rear emblems I decided that the rear "TOYOTA" emblem needed to go. It just looks out of place IMO. A quick search on here revealed there were no pins behind this emblem just adhesive. I grabbed my heat gun, plastic tool, Goo Gone, a rag and attacked the emblem.

I heated the emblem on low setting for about 2 minutes.

Prying the emblem off was simple after heating it up.

Adhesive residue.

It was no match with some Goo Gone. This will most likely strip any wax so you will need to re-wax.

The result. I think the rear looks more balanced now. I'm happy!

An even easier way is to get fishing line and just run it behind it. Took me all of 30 sec. to remove the same one. I also skipped the Goo Gone step and used a rag and some water. Chances are with a car that is 10 years old that stuff will just peal off, mine did.
