Rear Window Sensor for Dash Controls

I'm posting this because (1) I feel like an idiot and want to save others from that same fate (at least on this issue), and (2) on down the road this may save people some time in trying to trouble shoot what might seem to be an electrical and/or fuse issue.

So, this morning we had our first snow. Rear window got all buggered up and I went to hit the rear wiper...nothing. Thought it might be a fuse. Then, I noticed that the rear defrost wasn't working either. Again, thought it might be a fuse. Yet, with less than 3k on my 4R I wasn't thrilled at the idea that I was popping fuses.

Anyhow, the window got so bad I rolled it down to see better when backing out of a parking spot. When I rolled it up, everything starting working again. I called the dealership to ask if there was some kind of override sensor associated with the rear window....and indeed there is. So, even if your rear window is just a smidge open (but appears closed), your wiper and defrost won't work due to the rear window sensor override. Keep that in mind if you (like me) jump to the conclusion that it could be a blown fuse. Save the hassle, and just bump the rear window button to make sure it is FULLY closed. And, it only makes sense, which is why I feel like a complete idiot.

Hope this helps someone out there.
