Rear Window Tailgate Buttons

One of the features that I really like about the Limited model, is the rear window buttons on the rear tailgate.

Has anyone looked into whether we could put that on an SR5 model?

Edit: This would be for a 2015 model.

TOTALLY Guessing, but I'd suspect the rear window control module (located in the tailgate) and some wiring would need to be swapped in addition to the garnish and buttons themselves.

Anyone confirm if the rear window control module is the same across models? That should shed further light on the topic (I'm too lazy to search for that info right now )...

My thoughts are this wouldn't work because those buttons only work when the keyless entry fob is in proximity of the vehicle. I think the whole system of the keyless entry works together, I don't think one part would work without the other.

BUT OF COURSE! :kiss:

Otherwise anyone could walk up and roll down your rear window from the buttons! (I'm obviously not "hip" to the T4R keyless thing and associated realizations with my '13 SR5 and its old-fashioned key )...

However, I know the ECU's on all of our trucks still use some form of key-chip sensing for the Anti-Theft part (beyond keyless entry / you can't start a 5th gen with just a key that fits the ignition - you need the electronic "chipped" key or the truck won't start) - so maybe that could still be tied into this system as the "security" part?
