Received EGR rain guards...installed...CRACK!!!

Ok, because I am OCD, I read the directions to install the EGR rain guards twice. And, after successfully installing them into the window channel, I then tried to raise the window "5 times" per the instructions to properly seat the rain guard. However, due to the auto up/down feature, the window made it 3/4 of the way up, and decended back down. So, I then forced the window up by holding up on the switches and hear 2 cracks...ugh :Cry: Luckily, I soon realized that it was the rain guards that cracked and not my window. However, small pieces of plastic proceeded to fall down into my window channel. SO, I removed my door panel and removed the small pieces of plastic...the irony of the story is that this gave me a great idea seeing how easy it was to remove my door panel. Today, I ordered Dynamat and am going to install it on the inside of the exterior portion of the doors and the door panels. Ultimately, the tradegy of breaking my rain guards led me to my next mod which is the dynamat. Isn't it funny how things work out?? Oh, autoanything refunded my $ for the rain guards. I still have the 2 rear ones never opened if anyone wants them. And, and I highly advise against in-channel rain guards :lol:

Disagree. I have the Weathertech rain guards/vent visors for my T4R, and also had them on my Tacoma. I experience no wind noise at all. They are functional, allowing your interior heat to escape. They for great for camping, you can stay warm or cool while permitting fresh air to enter. I could care less about how something "looks", my primary concern is always "function".

I live in the South, SE Toyota will put these on any vehicle they can get their hands on. They're all flimsy, cheap, crack, and the only way I've seen them used is so people can dangle their cigarette out the window in a downpour. They all make a whistling/whooshing sound at 70mph.
