Recommendation on running boards please

They are very strong, you'll have no flex...unless you are 300lbs then step at your own risk :lmao:

Seriously though, I only weigh about 160 so not really a good measure but I can bounce on them pretty hard and have no flexing. My buddy is about 200lbs and he doesn't flex them either.

I payed on Monday and I got a UPS # the following day from auto accessories. I think my wife is looking forward to these more than I am. I really don't care for the running board "look" but I don't plan on offroading enough to justify the cost and extra weight of rock sliders. Plus I wasn't wild about trimming the rocker to make the sliders that I liked work for me. I think these steps will be useful and "blend in" to the look of my 4 runnner. I will post up some pics after the install!

Toyota missed the mark by as much as they possible could have with these running boards. Too low and too bulky. Reminds me of the 3rd gen tow hitch which killed departure angle in a huge way totaly unnessicarily. Toyota obviously has some offroad minded engineers to make the TE, but then some others get on board later in the game and cripple these vehicles. Final rant is the location of the 5th gen trailer light plug in - makes me ****ing nuts with my snowmobile trailer in the snow and slush and boat where i also want to unplug before launching to preserve the lights. Why do they make me climb under the vehicle to plug in a trailer! Love you Toyota, but WTF were you thinking half the time.

I agree about running boards, big & clunky. Also, the freaking 7" twenties on the limited. Did not realize till I needed new tires and had shot for options. Hence, new set up...well far from new anymore ;-)
 
just signed for my running boards and it looks like the shipper banged the S*$% out of the item. I have taken photos and will be seeing if the vendor can do anything or I'm stuck with these. Not a lot of damage but one end of the running boards is all scrapped up and the powder coat is worn off. Sorry but I don't know how to load pics on here.
