Recommendation on running boards please

Yes they are the stainless steel. As far as the trimming, not necessary. before you tighten down the 6 bolts that hold the board to the brackets, you can slide it forward or backward, no trimming necessary.

Yes I understand that you can but now your board is sticking out into the rear wheel well. I trimmed about an inch or so off the front so it doesn't overhang into the wheel well. Either way the work fine :thumb3:
 
These look great and I am thinking of buying these in SS as well for my Blizzard Pearl TR4. Are you still happy with them?
 
yes i have had them on about 4 months now, i am happy with them, they seem well made, I would have preffered something more off road such as the N-fab, nerf bars but I did not want to go to all the trouble to make them work on my SR5.
 
UPS showed up today with my Dee Zee NX boards I ordered from Auto Accesories Garage, they came in all damaged so I refused delivery. Both ends were busted open and boards were all banged up. Contact Auto Accesories garage and they stated they were shipped from distributor in Indianapolis and I would have to wait until the sender receives them back for a refund.
 
I'm new to all this 4runner jazz...ya gotta tell me...will it bolt straight on or not? They are all black aren't they?

I'm not positive, but I think you might have trouble with the rocker panels on the SR5 vs the TE. The SR5 rocker panels hang a lot lower than the TE rockers, so the factory TE running boards might be designed to bolt on higher up. Which in turn may require you to remove the SR5 rockers to install the factory TE boards, like some of the guys have to do when installing sliders...

I wonder where the fault lies on that one... I doubt UPS would accept the boards in that condition, so my guess is they were damaged during transport. This worries me as these are the boards and the place I was going to order mine from...
 
2012 blizzard pearl OEM running boards

I have set of OEM running boards that I will sell. They are color matched, Blizzard Pearl, $300 obo. Like new.

If you read this thread you will see that this is a common problem with Auto Accessories Garage. When I called them they indicated that they get them from a distributor in Indianapolis and therefore take no responsibility. Therefore my refund for this product has not been given to me until their investigation is completed and the items are returned to the distributor. Seems unfair when I paid for the items immediately with paypal but my refund may take a week or ten days to get. I would not deal with this company again but thats just my opinion
 
Just contacted Auto Accessories garage about the status of my refund after 6 days. THey stated that the package has now been lost in transit by UPS and they cannot refund my money until the item ships back to the distributor. They are attempting to put a tracer on the package but that does me no good as far as my refund. I would stay away from Auto Accessories garage, I have called them several times and left messages and no one has returned a phone call. All corresponance has been thru emails
 
5th Gen Limited Ionic STX Running Board

Sorry to revive this but I need a 15th post and wanted to share.

My '14 Limited didn't come with factory running boards, so I looked and was split between Ionic CXV and SteelCraft STX100 bc they both looked "factory", were 6" steps, and had a nice polished SS lip. I decided on Ionic (which was about +$90) only bc the Amazon seller for SteelCraft had a poor page with misinformation and bad pictures. The Ionics look awesome tho! Full length HD aluminum structure with plastic top plates, and polished SS lip. I installed them setback a little off center bc the taper at the back end (which looks grt) cuts into the useful step area. The L-brackets look and feel beefy, but the hardware to mount the step to the brackets are tiny and felt like I could easily strip them. I hand torqued them to the perfect spec using my calibrated right arm. Hope they last a lifetime.
