I was just wondering how you reliable your 4Runners have been thus far. How many issues have you had?

If you want to compare issues and trips to the garage vs other vehicles go to truedelta.com. Very good site that will answer your questions. I think the 5th gen 4Runner averages 19 trips to dealer per year per 100 owners. Industry average on SUV's are around 46 trips if I recall.

41000 miles - No issues.

Of note: - Drive shaft clunk, fixed under TSB.
- Steering wandered. Fixed with caster setting.
- Failed rear window washer pump. Warranty.

Me happy.

EDIT 12/10. Rear hatch conked me this morning. Went straight to dealer. New struts ordered without fuss.

76k. No issues at all. This is my first Toyota and I have been very impressed thus far.

Of note- First vehicle I've had that can handle my constant tinkering/tearing apart/putting back together with NO rattles. Even the wife is impressed. She swears I turn all my vehicles into "rattling junkwagons.":roadkill:

My 4th gen never had one issue in 62k miles that I owned it.

My 5th gen hasn't had any issues in the 3800 miles that I have had it...

52,000 miles on 2011 LE. Had front seat repaired with the crunching and windshield replaced. Otherwise, no problems.

11' SR5 - no issues (6,000 miles)

11' Trail - Front Diff, Transfer Case, Turn Signal (11,000 miles)

12.2K miles. No issues.

36K no issues with the car...the driver, not so much

31K...only issue is blower motor chirp. Dealer replaced. Great vehicle

Yes, but all taken care of under warranty - no questions asked.

Transmission replaced
Driveshaft replaced


No other real problems, my headlights are a little foggy and my seats crunch and my steering wanders a little and the nose dives when I brake, but it's the only SUV that I would use to do my job. Full frame, real 4wd and decent gas mileage.

12,842 miles. Called insurance to repair a crack in my windshield(USAA+Safelite). No other issues. :bluejump: :thumb3:
