Remote Starters

TANGENT - Maybe one of you could help me with this, but my wife's altima 3.5 has a DEI sticker on the fan shroud, but I don't know if the previous owner uninstalled the system. Where is the module usually mounted and how big is it? Will it be inside the car under the steering column area?

I just haven't had one and don't know exactly where to look.
When I had my 2003 Highlander I found a small black box under the dash, well in side the dash. I didn't know what it was so I left it alone.

There are different security bypasses for them. I think it depends on who makes the remote starter.

They charged me a couple hundred bucks with install on top of the starter when they did mine.

Compustar RF-2W9000-SS with DroneMobile. Works flawless. I liked how my installer tied the heated mirrors and rear window into the system to turn on at -1C (30F) automatically. (Keybobs and phone show interior temp of t4r) Starting from your cellphone is nice. Added the compustar with alarm to so I could have the alarm function over the DroneMobile. (OEM Iginition lock and horn honk intact)

Is there a factory Toyota remote start kit that can be installed on my 2006 V8 Sport Edition? My dad has an aftermarket remote start on his Crown Vic and has to carry the remote start key fob and the ford key fob too. Its really bulky and I would like to avoid carrying two remotes and keep everything OEM if possible. Thanks.

4runnERD, who ever installed the remote start in his crown vic should of been able to setup the oem keyfob to work with it. ive had it done on 3 vec. including the 4r, even tho the remote start was a cheap on sale brand.
