I have the same problem with my 2015. I pulled as hard as I thought I could without breaking something. Do you pull it straight back?
hahaha, I wish it simply "pulled back". To the OP. As said before, keep pulling,and pull harder. You'll get it.

Hopefully you removed the 2 nuts from the inside first. It is surprisingly tough to remove the first time.
Yes strait back.
Now go get that thing and quit making me type 2 nuts.

My buddy works in a body shop,
when we removed my rear tail lights, we removed the nuts, and then he put several 12" strips of masking tape on the light assembly, grabbed the tail ends and gave it a yank. It popped right out
I've had them out since, and they come out much easier now - no tape, no prying.

I did removed 2 10mm nuts before I tried to pull it out. I'll take a picture about that for the next time because I'm still waitting for the weather warm up a little bit ( snowing right now in Everett WA)

I just finished doing this in my 2010 TE. I spent like 15 minutes trying to pull it straight back but it wouldn't budge. I said f it and then started prying at at angel and it finally popped. I thought I had broken something for sure but to my surprise everything was just fine. Did the same to the passenger side and it came out much faster then trying to pull straight back.

I will confirm that it is "pull harder" & pull straight back. I wriggled it a bit & that seemed to help. It was a relief once I had it out - the retainers are not the sort that will break easily or are prone to wearing out - unless if the assembly were pulled to the side, or up & down. The retainers are a sort of "mushroom" (on the car) that slides into a slot/clip on the tail-light.
