Wanted - Sliding Cargo Tray in Virginia
Hey all, I am new to the 4runner scene and will be taking delivery this weekend on my 2016 Trail Premium. I searched forever for one in my region with the sliding tray but none have been available in the color vehicle i wanted for a couple of months.
I would be willing to swap and even provide some extra cash to someone who would be willing to do an exchange for their sliding cargo tray. If you have the sliding tray and would like to do a swap let me know. I am in Southwest Virginia, Roanoke to be exact.

Hi 4runninAmerica ... I have a month old 4Runner also and it came with the tray ...I would do the swap but unfortunately im in southwest Florida...

I have 2012 5th Gen Limited with slide tray. Would like to swap for normal floor. I'm currently in south/central New Jersey until end of June. Then will be back in St Petersburg Florida.

Ok, quick question I am a bit confused, I have a 2016 TEP. Ochoa - did you have to drill to install the rear mounting threads. I saw one thread that said install took an hour. How difficult is this to install in a 4R that didn't have it as OEM? Saw that Harper said you have to remove all the rear panels which is not something I would want to do - can anyone who has installed (no third row seats) how difficult this is and what is entailed? Thx!
In my case was plug and play. I did not drill nothing. The installation is easy

Same here, 15 months passed... I tried to use the space behind rear seat to store folding chairs or tarp pole. To get the tray back in, I had to reach in and move the stuff to make way for the tray to close. I hate this dam tray...:AK47:

What parts are needed to replace the floor when removing the sliding rear tray? It is the carpet floor and some padding underneath?

Is the tray that bad? I wanted one bad, but 2016s didn't have them unless you go Pro or white SR5.

It's not too too bad just doesn't do much good for my use. I would prefer more vertical room than the use of sliding tray.

I would also like to know the exact items needed to replace the tray with the regular floor.
Most of the T4Rs in my area are going to have the sliding cargo decks. However I would rather have the deck but the ability to swap it out if needed. Family beach trips versus weekends out in the woods and such.

I think when people say that the tray is useless they are really making a statement too generalized. It may be useless for them but for others like me who have had a broken back it's very much a needed and appreciated add on.
When people here say that it's useless because things slide off of it but then you read up and find that all you really have to do is purchase a few items from toyota to help deal with these nuances and you begin to think..wow man there's a lot of vocal opinion about something that should be trivial. Why didn't this person just.. you know...look for the same thing I easily found to help remedy his/her complaint for said item.
I guess my point is, if you don't want one then sit out and wait for a vehicle that doesn't have one but don't go on and on about why you have one but didn't want one then call it useless. Not all owners of a Toyota 4Runner are identical.
