Removing the "underbite" bull bar and repairing key fobs

Hey everybody, I have a couple of newbie questions that I haven't been able to answer through the search.

First off, I just bought an 03 Limited that has what I assume is the factory accessory bull bar on the front (see here). The bumper hangs out a little too much for my liking as it is, so I want to remove it. How are those things attached? Any chance that I can take it off without revealing a ton of paint damage? I know it's a basic question, but it's been below zero here since I got it and I'm not THAT hardcore. :cry2:

Secondly, it came with two keyless entry fobs, but the keychain loop is broken on both of them. I schemed up a way to fix it involving a Dremel, some steel wire, and some JB Weld, but that's going to be ugly at best. I couldn't find it through a search, but does anybody have a method for repairing these things? Alternatively, can you buy just the case somewhere? I couldn't find them on eBay.

Usually the key FOBs with programming instructions are on Ebay. I just looked and saw a few...

I think the 'extra chin' is an accessory that was added. It should come off fairly easily. No idea what the paint will look like.

Thanks for the reply. I found the replacement fobs you refer to on eBay, it just goes against my nature to buy a whole new unit when all that's wrong is a a tiny broken loop of plastic.

As for the bull bar, can anybody confirm that it was a factory/dealer/port installed option? If so, I'd guess that it should come off pretty cleanly, but if it's aftermarket, all bets are off.

Looking at removing the roof rack too since I don't need it and don't like the hit in gas mileage, but I've already found the threads relating to, and part numbers of, the parts I need.

yes, it is a factory op & believe it or not cost hundreds of $ for something thats plastic,they break very easily, but im sure you can sell it. if you remove it, there will be holes in the bumper that you'll need to plug.

That's what I was afraid of. What a stupid concept.

I knew it had to go when I couldn't even push on it when I got stuck the other day.

some guys mount lights to it, but thats about all its good for. like i said tho, advertise it in the cllasified section, im sure you will sell it, they cost between 400-500 from the dealer!
