Replacement o2 sensor - tube of gold-colored paste in the package?

Hi

I just received a replacement downstream O2 sensor from Amazon for my T4R, and when I opened the package there was a tube, with Denso marked across it, and it has a gold colored liquid/paste in it. I am thinking this is to be applied to the threads when I install it.

The last O2 sensor (one I am replacing) I got a couple weeks ago did not have this tube of paste in it. Any idea on what this is, and what it is used for?

yes, it goes on the threads.

I will - going to do it now. I wonder why they didnt send it on the last O2 sensor...? Oh well...
