Replacing Brakes

I'm coming up on 50k miles on my 2012 Limited, and am just about ready for its first set of brakes. In the past, i've turned the rotors when replacing pads, however i've always ended up with warped rotors.

Whats the general consensus here. Should i just replace the pads and call it a day...replace the pads & turn the rotors...or replace the pads and buy new rotors?

Measure rotor thickness. Below spec or near, replace. Well above spec, does the pedal pulse or feel shake in steering when braking? If so, turn or replace, if not, no need to do anything to the rotors.
