Replacing Just Battery Connector Terminals?

Hello:

My battery cable has connectors that are pretty much cooked.

I have always just replaced the entire cable, but is it easy to do just the connector terminal ends? That is, cut/pry them off and crimp-on new ones...or?

Kind of a small thing...but thought I'd ask.

I did search this forum...didn't find anything exactly about this.

Thanks!

actually toyota makes it easy to replace the terminal ends.

there's a 10mm bolt that bolts the cable to the terminal, pop that off and you're left with just the terminal end which you can pick up from toyota for around 15 bucks a pop.

do it up!

Thanks!

Excellent...thanks for the clarification. After 30+ German and Italian rides, I am probably overly sensitized to little stuff like this!

I appreciate to quick heads-up.

the aftermarket ones are different.

they are made for cutting the wire sheathing back and splicing the end of the open wire to the terminal end, basically a really cheesy way of doing it.

stick with the genuine toyota pieces, trust me

Yeah...I am familiar with those. I don't want to just cut and crimp for a new terminal end. I'll go to the Stealer and get one...just don't need to get the entire cable.

Thanks!

Good point, LINY. I'll get some shots up soon.

I was just out in Rockville Centre a few weeks ago. I hope it has dried-out a bit for you up there.
