Replacing manual transmission

I’m swapping out manual transmission with a rebuilt. I’ve watched timmys clutch change video and I’ll be using that as a reference even though I won’t be changing my clutch since it’s new. I will however need to remove my bellhousing and transfer case and put those on the rebuilt trans. Anything I should know before starting this job? Should I take off the transfer case before taking out the transmission? Any parts I should replace once I’m in there?

I would personally disconnect the transfer case first and then drop the transmission. If you watched our whole clutch video, you know that we ended up breaking off 3 bell housing bolts because they were seriously stuck. There is something about steel bolts into an aluminum housing becoming almost welded in the threads. If you feel significant resistance, I would try to heat and penetrating oil and not use an impact gun like we did.
