Replacing non JBL with Aftermarket Equipment

Hello all, new to forum, but not with the T4R. I just picked up last week, an 08' SR5 without the JBL stereo system. I have been reading the forums all week, and getting some good ideas on equipment and am going to self install. I have some limited experience installing aftermarket decks, speakers, and have done one mono amp and sub. I take my time and can usually get thru it witha few phonecalls or web site visits. Hoping some of the members can help out with a few questions I have.
For the HU, I am looking to save some coin, I wold like to install a DVD type deck. I need bluetooth, I love pandora, I want to install a backup camera, and I would like to retain use of the steering wheel controls. I am also looking to be able to use my Verizon IPhone 4 and use an app for the few times I would need navigation.So any recommendations would be appreciated.
Besides the deck and camera for this part of the install, what exactly do I need to purchase as far as harness, steering wheel control harness etc. Want to run component speakers up front, and a decent coaxial to fill in the rear doors.I would like these to be as drop in as possible, so again any input is much appreciated.
I'm also thinking of running a 5 channel amp to save space. I like JL Audio for amps and plan on using this sub due to it's small size and big sound JL Audio CP108LG-W3v3. I know this is a long read and I apologize. Thanks for any and all advice. Love this truck

I have a 2008 Sport non JBL and I upgraded the deck last fall to a Pioneer AVHP4300 DVD. I passed on the blue tooth option. The newer units now have it. I love this deck, what sold me were many great reports here on Pioneer decks but more important it had selectable illumination, and rear USB for my ipod. I did not want a front USB. I used a PAC SWS1 to retain my steering wheel controls and it works well.

Search this forum, there are many posts about what people run for speakers amps. a D class JL should fit under the front seat. (that is what I would do) and good 6.5" components go in the fronts with adapter plates. Most are running 6.5" coaxials in the rear doors. Other has skipped the upgrade on the rear door speakers too as it just wasn't worth it.

I gathered most of my info here when I did my deck and LCD headrest monitor upgrades. Just swapping the deck and keeping the factory speakers was a great improvement.

When I really think about it, I guess I'm really overanalyzing my needs and budget. The more I research, the moare daunting it appears. And after pricing out on EBay and elsewhere, it's getting real steep.
Gave Crutchfield a call and they suggested running JL Audio TR650-Csi component speakers up front and JBL GT6-5 coaxials in the rear doors. After searching the web I can get both sets for a $150 shipped. They also told me to take a look at the Pioneer AVH-P2400BT, not really sure about it. Decided to nix the idea of running a 5 channel amp, to expensive and it looks challenging to install. Would love to be able to install a stealth type sub and amp in the passenger side cargo storeage area. So I guess I will keep looking on the classifieds. Anybody upgrading please let me know what you got for sale.
Any member opinions on Kenwood, Pioneer, JVC, and Clarion HU are still very much appreciated. Also any good links or pics on installing the steering wheel contol harness would be of great help, that looks confusing. And finally the Rear view camers install looks time consuming but pretty straight forward, any thoughts on camera types and brands appreciated as well. Thank You to all who have replied.

Hey man, I'm in the same boat as you. Picked up an 08 SR5 w/o the JBL sound system last week. I picked up a deck a few days later (AVIC-X940BT).

Did some research and saw that you'll need this to retain the steering wheel buttons, it's a Steering Wheel Control Interface:
