Replacing XD HID Bulbs

Hey all,
Tried to google and used the Custom Search, but couldn't find anything specific regarding this - wanted to get some input from you all who've already made these replacements.

Just upgraded the ol' 4Runner's headlights to XD Xtreme HID Phillips 4300k. Got to thinking about buying replacement bulbs for when they burn out. I tried to look up replacement bulbs but XD sells it with the wiring harness for the ballast, etc.

Is this necessary or can you simply replace the bulb?

I'd contact XD directly and see what they have to say. I'm interested in the answer for myself.

https://www.xenondepot.com/H11-HID-Kit-Bulb-p/xt-h11-rb.htm. You can also use other brands as long as they use those AMP type connectors (which is virtually used by everyone) but XD makes some of the best aftermarket HID bulbs.

Got it, thanks. I guess that answers my question. My primary concern was if there was a way to swap out the bulb without changing the rubber grommet that I siliconed into the dust cover to prevent moisture buildup. Guess it's not exactly an easy swap in the field...

XD replaced one of my HID 4300k Phillips bulbs due to intermittent startup. The grommet is permanently attached so you would need to apply new silicone in your case. For what its worth I have had mine for almost a year and there is no dust in my headlight assembly. Silicone certainly can't hurt anything though.

As others have said, I'd contact XenonDepot to see if they will sell you a single bulb.

I can tell you that I've been running HID's from a couple different manufacturers for the last 15 years and have never burned out a bulb. I've lost a non XenonDepot ballast years ago and that company replaced it right away.

I wouldn't been too concerned about it but just to be safe you can always keep a stock halogen bulb on hand to change easily in the field or whatever. I know I kept my two oem bulbs just in case. Plus they can be used in other rigs.

Yeah, thanks for the tips guys - for those of you wondering, XenonDepot has been great in my very limited experience with them. Not about XD at all, was more curious because I hadn't seen anything regarding changing the bulbs.
