Resonator Delete

I've been thinking about just cutting off the ugly resonator right back at the axle where the pipe can't be seen. I've researched this and I can't seem to find a straight answer. Would this be ok to do without welding on a downturn pipe or rerouting it to the side?

I would just rout it out the side otherwise the exhaust may come in the air flaps in the rear, they are inside the bumper to the rear of the wheel well i saw this when i had my panels off in the rear

How bad do you think it would be to run the car this way for a couple of weeks until I have the time to go get a magnaflow and a pipe rerouted to the side?

it will be fine, I've been running true dual straights for almost a year
