Very sad to hear of Mike's passing. When I was thinking of buying a Trail like his, he answered all my questions by PM in a most patient and generous fashion. We've lost a true gentleman, and a very knowledgeable one.

This is very sad to hear, but his memory will certainly be preserved on this site via helpful posts, responses, and quirky comments. RIP.

You can read the details. In a nut shell, he succumbed to a very aggressive, very rare, form of cancer. He was only in his early 40s, I can't recall if he was 41, or 42 but I know it was way too soon for him.

I've been trying to think of what to say here. I guess I just want to share why I thought of Mike as a friend, even though I never got a chance to meet him. We did have some conversations through PM's, and it was always fun to interact with him directly.
Thing is, Mike was brutally honest, without being a jerk. That's rare- especially on T4R. One of my first posts was for my ill-received Airbox MOD, where Mike promptly posted that all I did was cut up a bunch of expensive Toyota plastic. I thought, wow! Who the hell is this guy? Then as I grew on the forum and posted more often, he was always around- chiming in at just the right time, with just the right comment. He told me my interior, with all the LED's looked like a bad 70's fibre optic lamp- and I loved him for it. He even posted a picture of said lamp, for effect... He compared my crappy tires to an old Iron Maiden singer. Who else could do that, and have it make sense? Name somebody?? He inspired me in alot of ways, but probably most of all for the way he approached his illness. He took it head-on, got things in order for his Wife and went out like a man. Very inspirational.
I will miss him and his witty comments. So long Mike.

Very sad and it shows you should enjoy everyday to it's fullest since you never know how much time you have and he sure seemed like a nice guy that still had alot more life to live. My prayers go out to his family and friends and kinda sorry I couldn't have known him better or in person. R.I.P. Mike.
