I've been following Mike's status for the past couple of weeks. I didn't know him well, but he personally affected my life by giving me the advice below on a trip out west this summer:

Are you staying in Glacier NP? We liked the Holiday Inn Express in Kalispell, MT just a few miles from the West Glacier entrance. I also recommend a trip along the North Fork (dirt) road to Polebridge and the Polebridge Mercantile. If you follow the Polebridge Loop north, you'll find another Ranger Station and entrance to the park and the road to the Fishcreek Campground. It's an all-day roundtrip drive, but the scenery is amazing and Kintla Lake is pure heaven.

In memory of Mike, I hope he's settled in a place like Kintla Lake. As a person who travels quite a bit, Kintla Lake is one of my fondest memories. I know I'll return there one day, and when I do I'll remember SeattleMike.

This has truely affected more people than you would have thought. People across there 4runner forums are all sending out their praise to you, and for that I praise those who send their prayers towards you and your family. It is unfortunate that you left us so soon but you are in heaven now looking down upon us. I will continue to pray for you and family, and pray that your wife knows that this is just temporary and that she will be with you again one day.

To Mike's wife and family,

The measure of a man is not what he accumulates in live, but the memories he leaves behind. Fortunately Mike left us with his thoughts well documented here and he provided some memorable interactions. Mike touched more lives than just those physically/geographically close to him. In light of his desire to leave a little piece of him in various places, take comfort in the fact that he left a little of him with all of us here at T4R and the wide geographic dispersion across this great country and beyond from where we hail.

He will be missed as a contributor, but his legacy will remain in the form of continued inspiration for mods building building bunks for dogs and great kitchen/storage solutions.

From my family to yours, our heartfelt condolences.

I talked to Stephanie last night, I gave her the links to his build and this thread.

She said that if people really want to make donations that he would have liked to see it go to the American Red Cross. He grew up in So Cal and it was a group that could be relied on after natural disaters down there.

also she said he would want everyone to blow a tank of gas on a Sunday drive with the people they love.

So sad. I only knew SeattleMike through this forum, but I could tell that he enjoyed life and truly enjoyed helping other people. He was a good man and he will be missed.

Extremely sad to hear this. I never knew Mike but I was a long time lurker on this forum before I signed up. I remember reading his posts of when he was searching for his 4Runner. He was a very knowledgeable guy and contributed greatly to this forum.
