Reverse Light Options

The stock reverse lights on the T4R are really weak, plus I have my tail lights tinted, making them almost useless.

What options are there for better reverse lights? Can I just buy aftermarket fog lamps and wire them into the trailer light plug? I am not very experience in wiring, and would like to do this my self.

I know you can get the lights that attach to your tow hitch but they are $100, and I think I could get a better set of lights for half that price.

Thanks.

So tinting makes them useless? Is "cool" more important than functional? I never get that...

The reverse lights in my '08 are 921 bulbs. If I needed SOME additional light I'd get a slightly whiter and higher wattage bulb if possible. I did that when I had my '90 and it worked well.

An aux light shouldn't be too hard to wire in. I'm not familiar with the 4th gen trailer wiring but I assume you could simply tap in to it rather easily.

Try Cabelas, my 08 4R is the second vehicle I've had them on.Really easy to hook up, even I did it!Comes with everything needed to either switch from the dash or by using the reverse circut in the tow plug. They're $30 -40 to your door and the quality has surprised me....twice!
