First off, let me say wiring and wiring diagrams is literally something I hate with a passion (probably because I still don't understand fully what the fook goes on in ac motors) :redbrick:
I have a Westinghouse 1/6 HP motor, the fan blows air backwards. This motor is reversible. I assumed switching polarity would work (switching the two leads at the 3 prong end). Motor still spun backwards. Opened the back plate and switched the red and black wires (like it said on the info sheet). Motor hummed and did not move at all. I cut the power immediately. Put the red and black wire back where it was. Motor still hums and will not move. God..... did I frell it up? :redbrick: :bash:
Can someone tell me what to do? Explain to me like I'm 5 years old... I've searched online so much but I can't seem to find that eureka moment...
