Review of Garmin Nuvi 350

I just called ARnott ... got an AMAZING price .... and I want to order this immediately ....
BUT!!!!!! -- -I need one question answered first.
Does the unit have the ability to display the latititude/longitude coordinates in real time? I know that as of the 3.30 update, you can now enter places in lat/lon format. BUT --- can you make the device tell you where you are based on lat/lon? If you can, then I should be able to use this for geocaching without a problem.

BAH --- I blame this forum for me being broke all the time ....
I just ordered one .....
It looks like the unit does display lat and long (kinda ...) ..
If not, I will just get an el-cheapo handhelp unit for $80 at walmart for my geocaching.
BTW : The Nuvi 360 is coming out in a month. It will be $100 more or so ... and the only real added feature is bluetooth.

Yeah --- The north american release (the one preloaded with the NA maps) won't be out until July sometimes. I seriously considered waiting for the 360 to come out ... but I did not see much of a gain for the extra $130. If the 360 does end up being a lot better, I can always Ebay my 350 in the future.
I need to find a set of European maps for my 350 now. It would be nice to have when trying to walk around a foreign country.

Wow --- I ordered by Nuvi from Arnott yesterday at 3:30pm ... and the delivery guy was at my house when I went home for lunch. Looks like I have something to play with at my desk at work today ....
I finally have a use for that little storage area above the cup holder .... looks like the Nuvi is small enough to fit there. I am going to see if I can build some sort of mount that will allow me to open up that little compartment and get the Nuvi to pop up. That way I can just leave it there and plugged in all the time.

That is where I have mine right now. I want to figure out a way to utilize that little cubby area behind the cup holder eventually though.
The Nuvi is great --- it is just really hard to get used to. This thing is a lot diferent than the nav program I had on my PDA. Overall, I am happy with it so far.

Garmin Nuvi 350/260 owners:
Anyone else having problems with the suction cup? Off and on, since I've gotten the 350, the suction cup would "fail" and fall down. It hasn't been much of an issue until the last month or so. Now it falls off every 10 minutes, whether it is warm outside, cold, driving, parked, etc.
I have it mounted on the silver trip just under the button for the 4 way flashers, as demonstrated in photos earlier in this thread.
Even though this doesn't make any logical sense, I thought that since I didn't have the arm mounted perpendicular to the floor (I had it slightly angled towards the driver's side; that way the unit would rotate on the ball mount to give me a better viewing angle) that this might have something to do with the problem. It seemed to stay stuck in place a bit longer if I have the arm positioned perpendicular to the floor at first, but now it is still falling down all the time.
Has this happened to anyone else? Suggestions? I tried cleaning the suction cup/trim, having both be completely dry, wetting the suction cup, etc.

I've not had a problem with it. But to be fair, I don't use the Nuvi every day. I've occasionally had the suction cup fail when cold, but nothing like what you're describing.
I'd suggest calling (if you have time to sit on hold) or e-mailing (if you want to wait a few days for an answer) Garmin tech support.

It doesn't fall off like what you're describing though. Call or email Garmin to see if they can send you a replacement unit. I hear their customer support is pretty darn good. Let us know what happens. I may just call one in so I can have a spare

Since I posted it hasn't fall off all day 
One other thing though, as long as we are on the topic. Sometimes, even though the unit is plugged in through the power plug, the battery will read almost empty, almost like the unit is left on overnight. The power source turns off with the ignition so it automatically turns off when I turn the truck off. Its almost like it stays "on" sometimes, but I've never actually witnessed this. Anyone else??

I take the Nuvi when I leave so I've never just left it plugged in. I haven't heard of any map updates for the Nuvi yet. They've gone through a couple of software updates though.
Yes, I got Mapsource version 8. Got lucky and Garmin did not charge me for an unlock code.ksneubec said:

It has something to do with the date you register the Nuvi and when they come out with the software. The Nuvi is my first GPS so I'm still trying to sort out all the steps to follow, etc. So I think I registered it late. In any case, I was prepared to pay the $75 update fee, but their system said there was no charge. Definitely not a time to question their system!ksneubec said:
