I think there's only once that I had a diff regeared and didn't spring for a master install kit up front, and that's because I'd just sprung for a master install kit on that diff the year before. 
It's all good, Riff. Better to find out now than two months from now on the trail, right?

That's why I like this shop. AK (the owner) is ex-military, and a straight shooter. If he says it's toast I believe him.
By the time the guys at Chaos are done I will be confident that The Honey Badger will be good-to-go for off roading, and overland adventures.

Just the stock OEM types. If they should fail/break I'm going with some beefy ones through Chaos. But that upgrade $$$ is for another time. For now I've already upgraded the rear axles to Chrome-Molys matched up to Yukon 4.88 ring and pinion/Grizzly locker.

Well my 4Runner is ALMOST there. Chaos is now plumbing all the air line for my front ARB locker, and onboard air system. Here's a photo journal of last Saturday which was a poker run to help Chaos Off Road to get the money to build an obstacle course.

Hi KidV! It's been too long. Sorry I haven't posted sooner. Badger has been giving me fits with a aggravating problem. For no good reason she'll be running fine, and then turns off. Engine will crank, but will not fire for a few minutes. After that - starts right up.
I've tested spark, air, and fuel with no problems, and no codes.
What I think the main cause is -- a month ago I scored a great buy. A 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser with no body, or frame rust. Only problem - slight leak in the head gasket. The LC was owned by the owner of The Cove Campground who also has a 3rd Gen 4Runner, and just wanted the LC gone. Talked him down to -- $2,200.00!!
So my belief is the Honey Badger is jealous! I keep telling her she's the only Toyota for me, but I don't think she's buying it.... :rockthrow:
My plans are to keep The Badger as my local off roading vehicle for trips to the GWNF, The Cove, and Rausch Creek. And to built the LC for Overlanding. Once I get all the mechanical bugs worked out I'll be adding a 3" Heavy Duty OME lift. We are probably going to get a trailer/tent combo next year. This year - get it right.

Nice score. I feel relatively certain of a 60 or 80 in my future too, those are nice trucks.

The LC80 has a beautiful body. I only wish we had it in diesel and manual locking hubs here in the U.S.

Will the Methods fit the LC? Diameter? 16,17"? :tape:

Not sure yet. The bolt pattern is probably the same. But the Methods are 15 inch, and the LC has 16 inch wheels. The bolt pattern is the same. I don't know about the OEM backspace on the Landcruiser, I think it's similar to the 4Runner but I'm not sure. Unless the backspace is really off, those wheels should fit.
I don't know anybody who's made the move to the KO2s and regretted it. I'm really wanting a set of them in 34x10.5 for my F*rd.
