RIGID Hyper Spots bolted to CBI hood mounts

Just installed this stuff over the weekend. Used the FJ switch and managed to figure out how to power the switch when i turn the headlights on and show a green indicator light when the RIGID lights are on. These lights are super bright pencil beams and really bring out the detail at night and in the distance. They are so bright at night you can literally see behind a tree because there are no shadows.

Looks great! How'd you manage the wires tot he switch to function as you have it? I have the same switch and can only turn the light-bar on without the green indicator light showing...if the green indicator light shows, the lights do not turn on...so I have my light turn without the indicator light...

as far as the switch, I think I cut the relay out of the red power wire (the thick black heat shrink) coming off the switch.

but, i sat there pushing the button on and off and connecting the top wire from the FJ switch (that top wire controls the green light) to different wires on the switch and other wires and terminals. The green light finally came on during one of my combinations and then the green light went off when I pushed the button again, so i got my solder gun out and solder it. I believe it is on the ground to the actual wire ....

oh forget it. I will take a picture. (LOL) give me an hour or so and i will get a pic on here. The picture will do a better job describing than i ever could.

I did cut a relay out, just cannot remember which wire. I think the Red and green wire coming from the switch. That relay was causing issues, probably prevents a current from flowing back into the switch or something like that, but oh well.

The red and blue wire from the top of the switch runs to the blue wire from the lights. That blue wire goes into the factory Relay. I think you know what Red and Black is.



Soldered to the connection for the blue wire.



The brown and purple wire (power for the switch) I stripped and pressed into an extra plug I found tucked into the dash with the other wires. So when i turn the headlights on the switch lights up with the rest of the buttons.

You bet. Easy to do, just take out two screws and pop the console down.

Yeah, not cheap by any means, but I sold all my old 4runner stuff that i have replaced on my 4runner to pay for it. almost even trade.

worth every penny, they are so bright.

Going to add some night time shots tonight. Drove through the hood with them on last night.

Trying to figure out how to aim these beams, never had pencil beam spot lights before. But if i aim them just above the bright lights they end up lighting up the road and the tops of trees. kinda funny when your lights are shining in the 2nd story of houses driving down the street.

their site and my MAC don't seem to get along very well as half the time i can't browse past the product page for some reason

The only thing I can say about the brackets is when you install them have someone ready to catch your hood. When i loosened the two bolts on the passenger side my hood came crashing down. It took everything i had to hold that hood up. Pinched my fingers/hand etc... it really sucked. And my hand still hurts. So i jammed a piece of 1x1 that was 8 feet long under the hood and to the floor to hold the hood up. Installing these is really a two man job, Can be done by yourself, but i don't recommend it.


I am surprised more folks are not running these. They are in a great location for spots and i think look better than light bars. Just my opinion.

Ahhh shit, they are 50 dollars less than i paid for mine. I am contacting these guys and asking for the difference. Only one pair left. Better get them now!
