RIGID Hyper Spots bolted to CBI hood mounts

Here is the Rigid security bolt kit 40283 for the pillar lights.

This kit concerns me a little because for $24 (retail is $39?) you get two bolts and two adapters. SO... you have to buy two kits for a pair of lights.

In my opinion i think that is bad business on Rigids part. $500 plus dollars for a set of lights and then they nickle and dime you for four small pieces of metal. Rigid should just include them in the light kit. Just thought i would bring that up in case an employee from Rigid reads this. At least no one can take them off my 4 Runner now... (yeah right) haha.

And a special thanks to "Player" for packaging these up. With out Player's hard work and devotion these items would have never made to to market.

How do you feel about the added security of these bolts? Will they work on Non Rigid lights? I'm assuming yes, but thought I would ask the obvious question.

The added security for me is more a piece of mind. They don't really add any more security than a regular bolt. Just need an adapter to take them off.

If i parked my truck at the airport for 3 days i can guarantee you some a-hole would just cut the bolts off and take them.

I don't know about non rigid lights. I would save your money and go to a hardware store and buy their security bolts for about 20 dollars cheaper.

I bought the rigid security bolts because it was kit specific to the lights. Plus i was just being lazy. Lazy = pay too much for over priced bolts.

I could have gone to the hardware store and bought bolts that need a special key etc...

Yup, had my bike rack stolen out of my hitch at shittlesworth. Somehow they removed the lock on the end of the bolt best I could tell.

i had forgotten i even had my bike rack on the back in the first place.

The funny thing is, i did not realize i even had my bike rack stolen for about two months until i went to go grab my bike rack one sunny day. Then about 5 seconds later i realized what had happened and the last place and time i saw it.... at the airport.

I take taxis or Uber to the airport now. I refuse to pay 14 dollars a day to have my crap stolen.
