Rims / Tires Recommendation for - 2004 T4R Limited 4X4

Currently I am running

265/70/17 Revos Of course with the 17" rims

I wanted a more aggressive looking tire then the stock ones that were on it. So i went with the Revos, being it was all season/ terrain. I live in So.FL but i take my baby up to NC/ WV for Snowboarding trips, and some minor off-roading.

I dont care about the mileage lose...

But now I have the OME lift. And the Tires look way to small.

I have been looking at getting rims / new tires but I am confused on what can fit.

I hear i can go up to a 35" tire since i have the OME lift without rubbing problems.

I want an Aggressive Tire Not MUD tires but close to it, that i can get 40k+ miles on.

I dont know whether i should get 16" rims for a better selection on tires..
or keep the 17"s and find a tire that would have all my needs.. and be around 35 inches.

If i do stay with the 17" rims i would like to get the rims t-rex grrr is using. Hes the T4R monthly winner.
He is rocking 285/70/17 cooper discoverer stt but i have no idea how to tell how many inches that is.
Plus he doesnt say what type of rims hes using.

I am rocking a White T4R, and i think black rims would look sick with aggressive tires.

After this i will be putting on my ARB bull bumper. Without sick tires and wheels it wont look good!

SO` PLEASE !
Any suggestions / recommendations let me know.

Yeah i have looked at them.. but havent found one that explains overall length.

Also i wanted input on which size rim i should go with.. stock 17s i have.. or get 16 for better selection on tires.

Regarding the wheels, most hardcore off-roaders like smaller rims. However, If you start to go with really big tires in 35's or above, the difference between 16 inch and 17 inch rims should not be a factor except for the fact that tire choices may be a bit more limited in the 17's. Pick a tire and wheel combo that you really like and see if you can get the overall diameter that you want. I guess you can also look at the radius to measure out the center of the axle to height of the tire to wheel-well to see how much gap you're gonna have. Sorry can't be of much more help.
Personally, I'd go with 17's but I'm not in to rockclimbing.

your 04 LTD 4runner comes with larger brakes and therefore you can't fit 16's (from my understanding). Therefore you're going to have to pick something in the 17" wheel range.

35's are possible but you'll need A LOT of cutting, welding, and customizing (permanent) to fit 35's. You're better off going with either 285/295/305 (max). But the bigger you go the more ugly modifications you'll need to do.

If you don't want to go thru that trouble then I'd say 285's (285/70/17) are your best bet.

Look for All Terrain tires as that'll give you the "aggressive" look without the Mud Terrain ride and feel and tire wear.

Alright Good Times, so what modifications would one have to do to fit 285/70/R 17 BF Goodrich A/T's onto an 07 Sequoia wheel?? Thanks!

To fit 285's AT on 17" wheels:
OME or any other lift out there that's 2.5-3". Will require some trimming on the front bumper and removal of front mud flaps.

Will experience some rubbing since you're sizing up significantly compared to stock.

The trimming on the front bumper is very minimal. Really so it's not that bad. Heck you might even be able to live w/ the rubbing on the front bumper if you don't want to cut it. since it's only A/T tires you might be able to get away with it.
