I loved listening with my Dad to the tappet brothers. Tom will be missed. Rest in Peace Tom...

I used to listen to them regularly. Both brothers were MIT graduates, that became auto mechanics.

Listen to them every week. Very sad to hear. Was a true icon in the industry..

I still listen to them on the weekends (when NPR broadcasts them here in Philly) when I can. My father, who isn't into cars, loves to hear to them. Entertaining and makes him laugh. Sounds as though the other brother wants to continue broadcasting the older shows.

Such an amazing show. Those two together were gold. Not to mention the skill needed to diagnose car problems over the phone mostly talking to people who have no idea about cars in general.

yeah for two years now, when he turned 75 they stopped doing it live

I miss listening to car talk as a kid. What a great show that anyone could love. Most of the crap we watch or listen to these days is so dividing and crass, but Click and Clack were just awesome. I honestly don't think anyone could find anything negative to say about them even if they didn't even remotely like the concept of a car talk show.

I grew up on that show. I got my first car to restore at 12 and every Saturday I worked on it and listened to the tapped brothers. Sunday was whuddya know. RIP Tom, and know you were a great source of knowledge and wholesome entertainment.
