Am I reading right with you saying that you pulled 22 mpg out of your 4runner? I dont want to start a 2 page discussion on mpg but my last trip on the highway brought in 18, granted I had my canoe strapped on top...

+2 for the Billy 5150's! I love mine and am glad I spent the extra to get them. Sorry to hear all that stuff broke but hey, whenever anything breaks, what do we do? Replace it with bigger and better stuff! so it ain't so bad after all

Your bumper is black, so you can get away with out it. But I think bug guards look good on most vehicles.

On the highway yeah ill pull 22 all day long, all city is like 18. Its all about how you maintain it and drive it.

After everything was in, I went for a little test drive around the neighborhood. Everything worked properly, it was good to hear that supercharger whine again . The rear new 5150s are so AWESOME!! I am 100% happy I decided to upgrade, its a very noticeable change over the 5125s. The front feels so barbaric in comparison, coilovers are high on the list now.

The Toytec Coilovers match the 5150's nicely on mine. I have the 600lb. Eibach Coils on my setup. I'll have to let you drive mine before you order the Coilovers so you can decide on the coil weight.

Do you have a line on the extended bump stops yet???
I already have 18" limiting straps that came with my rear Downey coils.

Ripcord, you mentioned not finding the bolt for the upper link. 6-8 months ago I was under the rear axel and noticed I had a missing bolt in my driver side upper link and the passenger side upper link was missing a bolt. When I installed the rear coils about a year before, both bolts were in the upper links. I think the bolt had worked its way out and that how your rear end ended up the way it did. When you install your new beefy links use a lock nut or loctite. I went to lock nuts and have been checking my bolts periodically.

That is the plan. Already got some locking nuts.
I am forever going to be paranoid about them now though.

This is some sweet truck, really beautifull work done to it. I almost want to go buy a 3rd hen to mod it up, just due to the fact you make it look amazing.

Question for you regarding the Storage box, which is also an awesome mod.

has it began to rattle more over time, considering its wood and gets loose at over time? Any other cons you can think of for having this cargo box?

That's the cheapest set I have seen. They look like they will work very well based on the mounting design of ours being very similar. You would just need to make something to ensure they dont rotate around on the mount.

It is just as rigid as the day I built it, which was great. I think it is becuase of the construction techniques I used. Its one of my favorite mods just becuase of the time I put into it and how useful it is!

Are you familiar with pipe threads? You don't torque them until they bottom out otherwise you get something like this

edit: so you went back to page 4 on 8/18/2012 and changed the picture of the sensor eh? Funny thing I noticed. The picture above shows the adapter piece seated deeper into the T than this new picture you posted. I guess I was right after all.

A) its not bottomed out, the electrical connector acts as a spacer and keeps the threads perfectly fine.

B) Are you familiar with reading glasses? Put yours back on. The fitting is not cracked, if you look closer you can see its a strand of Teflon tape and the shadow cast on the side of the fitting. I can assure you it is not cracked.

C) If all you are going to do is troll my thread and nitpick, find another thread. Its not the first time you have tried to pick apart my work and failed, but it damn well better be the last, becuase there is nothing to dig for. GTFO my thread.

Okay then, I'm sure you checked it and it's not cracked. And you are welcome. It's an excellent thread with good info. I saw the what looked to be a crack researching the trans gauge and the taco whip you presented. You're kind of an ingrate though.

The electrical connection is at the joint above the "crack" in the T.

Thanks for the compliments. I made this so it could be a resource and I'm glad its being used.

As far as drcoffee, he is just a sad desperate little troll that has been here too long. He has a hobby of trying to prove people wrong on stupid things then argue when he gets shot down. He has messaged me in the past trying to tell me I did something wrong, but he was wrong again. He even tried to convince us all that our transmissions were gonna blow up becuase we install trans coolers, lol. Just ignore him.


Back to the build..

I almost have all the parts I need for the HD links, all I am waiting on is the poly bushings from Energy suspension. These things are going to be so unnecessarily strong its almost funny. I may look into reinforcing the mounts becuase that will be the new weak link in the rear 4 link setup.
