Bumper Update & Some other cheap mods!
Ok guys, money has been a bit tight lately so these mods are not up to my usual level. So learn to appreciate the small things, hah! They are cool though I swear.

Real quick though, I know some of you were wanting an update on the bumper situation. I know I have been a bit vague on what all happened.
It was bent during the whole driveshaft thing. basically I snapped the shaft while I was up on the hill, and the top of the hill is nice and flat. So we figured lets just pull it the rest of the way up and fix it there. As soon as we began tugging on it, it bent up as you can see below.
Once it bent up, we moved the strap to the stock tow hook and the pulling truck lost traction before my 4runner even moved. Needless to say I was mad the bumper couldn't even withstand that. I began communications with 4xinnovations a few days later.

After I got the bumper off I found it was actually the stock mounting points that bent and not the bumper. The reason though, was because the side bolts were not in because those bolt holes never aligned. At this point, even though it was the fault of the mis-aligned holes, I decided to just drop the dispute and just fix it myself.
The stock mounting points bent back into place easily (another sign it's weak). I am now in the process of heavily reinforcing the stock mounting points and the bumper so this doesn't happen again. Also the bolt holes will be aligned. I have my own welder now so Ill update on that by this weekend.
Once it's all done I think this thing is going to be very strong.

OK, back to the mods!
First Thing I did was add a MUCH needed Bottle opener on the back of the cargo box!
This summer has been full of camping trips and we all usually all end up in folding chairs near the back of the runner around a camp fire, drinking and BS'ing.
I found a classic coke one on amazon for like 10 bucks, so I bought it. They had other logos available too, like different types of beer and some other sodas.

Next up was a winch fairlead. I know, I know; I don't have a winch. The bumper just looked so bare without something up there.

So I also ordered a Smittybuilt Aluminum Winch fairlead from amazon. It was like 25 bucks.
Painted that Ish metallic blue.
I also painted the License plate bolts blue.
So what do you guys think? I think this silver/ blue may be a new color scheme for me.
Next up I want to redo the TRD center caps with Blue TRD logos instead of red!
