Ripcord's 2002 4Runner Sport Ed.

Aint that the truth. unfortunately with my truck, that what is every damn thing.

Yeah but then you break you upgrade and eventually you get a bunch of new stiff that is a lot less likely to break.

If ain't a word then I ain't gonna say ain't anymore cause ain't ain't in the dictionary. Or you could prove me wrong, but I doubt you ain't gonna look ain't up.

How many miles did that used diff have?

Also, could have someone have had it apart before you bought it?

As I said before, Toyota is really not awesome at setting up gears. It varies from 3rd to 3rd, but we get brand new ones often and the patterns can be pretty pathetic considering it is an OEM Toyota 3rd that costs well north of $1k.

Hey Ripcord! Sad to hear that you are selling your 4runner. I was wondering if you have sold your Yakima wind fairing? Just let me know thanks!

Hmm one would think thy could figure out how to use a dial meter and a in/lb torque wrench. Maybe even some contact patch grease.

You would think. They use their own red pattern grease, typically the pattern is too shallow.

Hence the stripped gears. I am no expert but I know how to set them up right the first time. Btw gonna he a hold of you sometime soon. Gonna be going 4.88s in the near future.

I have a 4.88 elocker diff (minus the actuator motor) setup by pros that did it right.. if you are interested.

So it looks like you ended up right by the circular opening in the frame, and I'm guessing it's the same height as the stock mount was, looks like about 19". I've been toying with the idea of doing this to open up more options for rear shocks, but I'm worried that the placement of the mount has to be exact or I'll mess something up, though it seems like guys mount them several different ways. Just trying to get some insight into what goes into the decision on where to weld the mount. Thanks in advance.

Its on the opposite side of the frame rail from the stock mounts. You can tell what angle it needs to be when the lower mount is in, it pushes itself to that be that far forward.
