Good god Colorado is beautiful. Makes me slightly rethink moving to Arizona and going slightly north instead. I am just so sick of snow though...

I am still enjoying myself with my time off, more trails and more new territory.

I have run the following trails the last few weeks:
Boreas Pass
Breckenridge peak 10
Red Elephant Hill
Bill Moore lake


At Bill Moore lake, found some ATV tracks in the water, why do people have to be so inconsiderate?

Truck looks amazing as always Jim. That water is so clear in that lake, it's ashame people suck and felt the need to drive their ATV's through it. Hopefully nature gets back at them eventually, maybe a well placed lighting strike or a hungry bear? :becky:

Just do it. I changed my CV in the parking lot of my apartment where we aren't allowed to work on cars. I just parked in the back, and I doubt anyone was going to say anything to sweaty greasy guy walking through the parking lot holding a CV axle and 3 foot pry bar haha. Now something like an engine swap would be a different story...

Beautiful autumn leaves. Hard to find that out here in the PNW with the Douglas Firs and Ponderosa Pines. Tons of gorgeous conifers which keeps our neck of the woods green all year long. I think the COBDR is on my bucket list after the OBDR. Thanks for sharing.

LOL.....

In college, we shared a parking lot with a neighboring church. Had to be out of there every Sunday morning or else, get towed.

The following list is NOT exhaustive of all the car projects we did in that parking lot:

• new rear ring gear on a chevy 12 bolt
• 2 head gaskets (at least)
• clutch
• engine swap in a '63 caddy
• custom exhaust work
• various car stereo installs and subwoofer upgrades

Where there's a will.... there's a way!

It's so refreshing to see somebody put together a well thought-out build thread. Most build threads I just want to go through and look at pictures only, but yours actually made me want to read everything, haha. Gorgeous 4Runner!

I was wondering why you went for the sport edition 02 in both builds? When I was looking for mine, sports edition wasn't an option cause there aren't any up here in Canada, we have "badlands". They look the same but Canadian version doesnt have option for sunroof nor cruise control and no bucket seats and no rear diff lock. I opted for the limited model 99-00 because I wanted these options and primarily the factory rear diff lock.
I wonder why you and even others go with 01-02 model that doesn't carry rear lock.

The world doesn't revolve around e-lockers for everyone

I got the first 02 because I liked the color and wanted the multi-mode awd option.

I got the second one because of the same reasons. For the record, I plan to go with ARB lockers in the near future which are far stronger than the toyota e-locker anyway.

Out of curiosity, how well does the multi-mode AWD work offroad? I'm looking at 2001 and 2002 4Rs simply because they are the newest 3rd gen you can buy. If I do any serious offroading in the future I could always add lockers like you are planning on doing, but I'm curious how well it works in factory trim.
