Ripped off my running boards (quite literally)

So i decided since it was sunny and warm, to take my running boards off.
what a job.
in short: rust, snapped bolts, previously stripped bolts, and the running boards were mostly just sitting on the brackets.
the one spot the bracket and running board were still attached, the bolt was completely stripped so i gave up and ripped it off instead.
brackets on drivers side wouldnt come off, previously stripped bolts and corrosion so they are currently bent up under the truck (in a spot that they wont cause harm) and are awaiting their fate with a grinder.
passengers side was easy and is still in one piece lol.

Penetrating oil is your friend when it comes to rusty bolts. It looks good though. Look into some front mud flaps. It looks like there is some rust bubbling up in the rear wheelwell on the driver's side.

Penetrating oil hasn't done that much for me. The thing that works every time if heat. The only problem is that sometimes I can't get heat to the bolt...
