RIVNUTS: best metal to avoid rust??

opinions or facts are welcome...

looking to insert RIVNUTS into my pillar next to wind-shield for a snorkel installation....

what material listed would be best in the sheet metal of the pillar by the windshield & does anyone think an M5 size would be too big for that area?.....

also is the thread depth of the rivnut is 12mm... should i pair it with a 14mm torx bolt to accommodate extra length need for the thickness of the metal pillar mount for the snorkel?

thanks!

I believe I would use stainless. You are close to the ocean so there is salt air and humidity. The aluminum might cause a galvanic reaction and promote corrosion. I don't know which of the metals would be sacrificial, but hopefully one of the more learned engineering types will step in and provide insight.
