My dumb smartphone can't capture how cool these things are. I love the finish. It looks a bit darker than the pics let on. I am sure it will look better with natural light. I need to rescue the 5th wheel that got held at a different location than the UPS sort facility tomorrow. I might get these on this weekend with some luck.

You've got 4. Last time I checked there's only 4 needed under the rig. Get them on. Just don't let Discount Tire install them. lol

Yeah, I wanted to get back to a hub centric wheel. Trust me, I spent quite a lot of time on Google search, here, and Tacoma World trying to get an idea on what color I wanted to go with. I just wanted to try something different from my current black Pro Comps.

Are your pro comps not hub centric?

I agree, I think black wheels generally look better on most vehicles that aren't black. I got the black ones because I've always wanted black wheels. Vin actually suggested getting dark bronze for my black 4runner but I had to check my black wheel fixation off my list. Now that that's done I'm pretty sure I'll change up the color to gunmetal or dark bronze at some point.

Did you have to wait long to get them? How was the ordering process? Mad dash once the site was updated? That was my experience when I was considering them.

Just about every SCS transaction experience I've read about was positive & mine was no different. Vin was VERY easy to communicate with, answered all my questions & gave me good input. Shipping to Atlanta GA took about a week after payment. They sent tracking info not too long after I paid for them. Those are the types of companies I want to go out of my way for to keep in business.

Are your pro comps not hub centric?

Pro Comp wheels are lug centric. Tons of ppl run them with no issues. I think my wheel stud issues probably stem from Somone, at some point, cranking on them. I am up to 6 broken studs since ownership.

I am getting my wheels mounted tomorrow. Thanks for the kind words guys. It will give me something to look forward to seeing when I get off work tomorrow.

Dude can't wait to see the wheels on your rig! I love em! Make sure you do go to a reputable tire shop for install, I made the mistake of going to a different spot cause my mechanic was honest and didnt want to mess mine up, well in the end the center hub portion was all screwed up. I will have to take some touch up paint and hope it will match

No you don't. Make your own. Give me a few minutes and I'll snap a pic and give you the parts list.

OK. Here's my setup.

You'll need:

1/4" NPT brass tee
1/4" x 1 1/2" NPT brass nipple
25' x 1/4" Male NPT air hose
1/4" Quick connect adapter kit.
Tire inflator

Just look at my set up and copy it.

Basically you unscrew the ARB pressure switch. Screw in the nipple. Screw in the tee. Screw in the pressure switch. Screw in the 1/4" Male quick connect. You can orientate it anyway you want. The quick connect kit contains all the parts and then some to make it work however you want. You could probably save some buy just buying the adapters you need instead of the kit but it's cheap enough. Also make sure to put pipe dope and teflon on all the fittings.

You can get a "street" T and then you can eliminate the nipple. A street T has a male input and 2 female outputs. So the entire assembly is shorter.

Haha, thanks man. I would tend to agree with you. I am glad I took some time to decide what I wanted because I had been going back and forth in design and color. Now I just need to get them to clear the pinch weld area. I have some adjustability in the SPC control arms, but I have been waiting for some good weather to crank the coilovers up a bit before I get a good alignment.

In other news...

I need to figure a fix for my fancy schmancy twin compressor installed in my rear cubby hole. It is chattering up a storm just driving down the road. And while the compressor is heavy, it is firmly mounted to the black plastic. But... i think it is making noise where the cubby hole body is mounted to the interior quarter panel trim.

I imagine a low tech solution might involve some closed cell foam bracing between the body and cubby hole plastic on the interior.

I am tempted to tweak or rethink my mounting location as a secondary option. I am considering gabbing some metal mount that might occupy some space on top of the wheel well. I am still thinking about this option though. If I went this mount I would rubber iso-mount all contacts to keep it quiet as possible.

I need to start sketching it out.

Thumbs up on the new wheels, Ryder! Good work on the compressor install too. Sometimes I wish I had gone with the larger ARB compressor so I could avoid having to carry around my MV50.

The F5s are still my favorite wheel from SCS. I have thought many times about taking the bronze set from the Tacoma and swapping them to the 4Runner.

BTW, I don't think your issue with the broken wheel studs was due to the old wheels. I've been running my 8069s (gloss vs flat is the only diff from 7069s) for years and have had no issues. The monkeys at the tire shop just over torqued them on you. I always stand around and watch them work on my rig. It's probably very annoying to the guys at Discount, but I don't care. I make sure they use a torque limiting stick for the initial spin, then use a proper torque wrench on each wheel. No shortcuts while I'm looking.

Thanks Blake! I was very tempted to try the Ray 10's and or their bronze for the F5's. But I have always like the design of the F5's and that's where I ended up. Thanks Nick! I probably should have started with an Viair compressor to get me up and running a lot sooner, but I got a really great deal on the ARB last BF so I ended up with that. That, and I was looking down the road thinking that I might try to add an ARB air locker in the rear. Now... If I could just get that cuby hole to be quiet.

So the Compressor just fits in that area, and it seems to be mounted just fine. But, the black plastic, where it mounts to the interior quarter panel molding seems to chirp and make quite a bit of racket just driving down the road. At least, I think this is the case. Hrrrmm.. I need to have someone sit in the back seat so I can try to isolate just what is happening. I have been brainstorming how I want to proceed. The low tech, (besides) turning the stereo up [MENTION=143526]theesotericone[/MENTION] lololol, would seem to be to figure out a way to brace everything in place.

I was thinking about cutting some closed cell foam to wedge between the body and the cubby hole plastic might help, but I have not cracked that egg open yet.

That's right, you DO already have some F5's. I think that would look pretty sweet! I almost went with bronze too. I sometimes forget that you have at least two fantastic rigs. I remember hearing you say that you might sell the Taco due to its limited seating options. If that's the case I would say swap the wheels over for sure.

Yeah, I don't think the wheels were the issue at all. I think that someone at some point cranked the hell out of them and damaged a lot of the lug studs. I still dig that classic bullet hole design and your rig and [MENTION=107971]derpiful[/MENTION] 's rig steered me towards them when I was buying wheels the first go around.
