Beautiful pics. One of my favorite coastlines in all of California. My youngest almost applied to Cal Poly but getting to and from home would have been a challenge. No easy way in and out of there. Think I'll head down that way again soon.

Overland Bound Rally 2016
I got to sit in and park a Defender 110 that was the Pre Runner for a Camel Trophy in the Himalayas some 40 years ago. Pretty amazing feat. Solid axles, no flex at all, but it just goes! Oh, fun fact...you have to flip a switch for about 10 seconds every 40 minutes or so of driving to grease your axles. Seriously.

Nicely done. Didn't see any spin on those tires! Looks like you had a great time at the rally. I need to put that one on the calendar for next year.
So when I started modding the 4runner a couple of years ago, my boys were up at UW and hadn't seen the changes I had made. We drove up there to see them one weekend and both boys said: "Dad, it looks like you're right out of Jurassic Park!." Funny to see the rig at the rally.

I haven't posted here in forever.
Just under 200k miles. Getting White Line bushings and front Bilsteins as the Ranchos from 2016 are all rusted out and my bushings don't even seem to be rubber anymore. Every speedbump is super creaky and the rebound is no good.
Things that bug:
1. Paint failing on roof and up-facing surfaces.
2. 9 mpg
3. Lack of power
4. seats wearing out
5. Carpet wearing out
6. weather stripping starting to tear all over the place
still...love this truck.

9 mpg: that's stunning... for a 1962 fairlane. :tape2: do you have goals for improving that and the lack of power? also, if you find a good source for weatherstripping, i'm all ears. a PO of my 4R obviously used the weatherstripping to step on when getting into the vehicle every day for forever, since it's all crapped-out there. toyota helpfully discontinued it. btw if your rear (hatch) window lower weatherstripping is all breaking apart, get it while you can. i just replaced mine and the parts counter person said i was smart to get it since who knows when it'll go out of stock.

At this age (2000) but "only" 215k on it, its still sounding and behaving per usual. But, I do notice I shift hard sometimes, especially going up grades. It feels like ti has much less power than before. I changed from E Load K02's to an America's Tire AT in C. I do feel as if the truck is a bit lighter. Most of the bushing and plast and rubber bits are starting to fail...like the heat sensor I just replaced.
