I have had Alvarado St. before. Good beer as well.

I loof forward to getting out this spring / summer. Some trails I have been looking at;

• Hwy. 4 Trails - Deer Valley, Slick Rock and such
• Masonic Road to Bodie
• Going around Mono Lake
• Mojave Rd
• Rubicon

I’m down for anywhere in the Sierras. Always wanted to check out Mojave Rd as well.

What kind of awning did you end up with?

If this happens, three of my favorite builds on this forum will be there. A trip report would have to happen.

About 4 feet of snow. Headed to the mountains to clear the deck and roof. Had to grab dinner and a beer and the Lube Room and then screw off a touch on the way back.

Last week, the snow kept falling. Headed up Saturday to find snow just over 2,000 ft elevation. As we got further up the hill, there they were in full glory, all the idiots that should have not been in the mountains during a storm. As usual, in the narrowest, winding area of the highway on blind corners is were everyone was stacked up, in the wrong lane, stopped and can't get moving and expecting some help. Sorry, my life and my families is too important to stop here and get run down by another idiot on a blind corner. Step the F to the side, I am throttling through!

Finally made it to the cabin to a bout another 30" of snow. I just cleared the deck 4 days ago. Got after it and then started on the roof where there was about 5 feet now in the area I was not able to clear last time. :dammit: :faint: Of course it was snowing the whole time I was clearing and I had to keep clearing the new accumulation as I went. Monday, woke up to bluebird conditions and a slow drive home. I am so ready for summer and wheeling.

Finally broke down and bought and ARB 2500 awning. I also got the ARB mounting brackets even though I wasn't sure how they would work on the Drabbits rack. When the bracket arrived, my thoughts were confirmed and I quickly returned them for a refund (thanks Amazon). I have seen some home brew, hardware store monstrosities that I would be embarrassed to have seen on my truck. So I broke out some graph and iso paper and designed my own. Since I don't have [MENTION=145287]atchcraft[/MENTION] 's skills or fab tool selection, I decided to have these fabbed up here at a local shop. Now to powder coat and install.

After I tweaked the mounting back plates to work through the wire mesh of the rack, I dropped them off to get powder coated, which cost me $35, not bad. Yesterday, I was home nice and early, so I decided to pull the entire rack and re-seal all the mounting hardware and loctite the hardware as well. After I was done, I decided to get the awning mounted using the brackets. That awning is not going anywhere now.

I need to pull my roof rack, replace the mounting inserts in the roof, and then re-seal and re-mount my roof rack. The driver's side front foot is leaking on mine.

Got to meet up with several members here on Saturday and hit the trail for a quick day run. I think I had a little more fun than others as I went through the raging stream crossing and back.

Do you think there's a noticable difference in offroad capability between your 34's and 35's? More headaches than it's worth? I'm at 34's wondering if I want to jump to 35's, just not sure I like the width of the 35.
