My 2012 TE came with rock sliders/steps that the previous owner had installed. Unfortunately they're not bolted on, they're hard welded on.
They are bare metal I believe, or only coated in some clearcoat, and the welds are starting to pick up rust.
I was thinking on using POR over the welds onto the frame rails, but are there any good suggestions for how to protect the sliders themselves? I don't do any heavy rock-crawling, but want to keep them from forming any rust bubbles over time.
