Rocksliders

Not to deter you from these since I'm sure they're a good slider, but the Shrockworks step sliders come more straight out and may be a little better of a step for her.

Damnit lol I've been leaning towards the Shrockworks ones for a while now. Back to the drawing board. She gave me the ok but she just needs to be able to step on them. I just wanted to save a couple bucks for some other goodies but then again its better to spend a little more and have a happy wife

Thanks for the pic. I think I just got sold on these as my wife is short and needs at least a little something to step on to get in.

You can also add longer bolts and washers or spacers to give it an extra 1/2-3/4" of space to make it a more usable space.

Do you have pics of the installed product? I may be willing to take them off your hands for the right price. At least that way you can recoup some $, and I won't feel as bad cutting them up! Just a thought...thanks!

I don't think they will fit your truck as I have a 4th gen. If you find otherwise PM me though and we can work out something.

You can also add longer bolts and washers or spacers to give it an extra 1/2-3/4" of space to make it a more usable space.

I added spacers behind mine- 1/4" plate with longer high grade bolts. You would be surprised how much more "step" you get with just the 1/4".

BTW- You don't want to space sliders with just washers though... You need the mounting plates to be in full contact with the frame/spacers or you will bend the hell out of the longer bolts first time you use them.

Shrockworks has two different models. One that angles up and only provides a little bit of a step and one that comes out at a 90 degree angle parallel to the ground that provides a nice step. You can't go wrong with Shrockworks.

Hey guys, sorry to jump onto a 5th gen thread, but...

I have rocky road supersliders for my 4th gen. I have had them a little under a year. I attempted to install them and they went on fine, but the doors wouldn't open. We tried to re-install them, switch sides, etc, and they still hit the doors. Rocky road customer service basically just said that I was going to have to modify them if they didn't fit. I attempted to get a refund (as I knew if I cut them up they wouldn't honor the warranty), but they just gave me the run around for months until I finally gave up. The sliders are now a $500 paper weight in my garage. I wish I had gone with Shrock works or something.

I'm glad it appears they fit now.

Edit: Rocky road also accused me of not knowing how to install these (even though my buddy who is a mechanical engineer was my "assistant."

Hmm that's pretty crappy. I feel for you on that. You could possibly try to take them to a fab shop and have them welded on.

I can't verify [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION]'s results that only a small spacer helps, but if you (and especially your wife) wants something that can also be used as a step I would not get these. The first time she tries to step on them with smooth-soled shoes, slips off and bangs the hell out of her knee/leg that's the end of happy wife happy life. I really like my Rocky Roads and have beat the hell out of them with no problems, but trust me, just get the Shrocksworks slider steps.
