Roof Rack Question (2nd/3rd Gen)

Does anyone know if the 2nd/3rd gen OEM roof rack supports (the U channels that bolt to the roof) are the same profile/shape/extrusion? I'm pretty sure they are different lengths, but I cant find any info on profile? Anyone out there have any knowledge on this?

They are not the same. I park next to a 2nd gen everyday and they are not even close..
