Which tent is that? Are you attaching that to the factory bars?!?
Looks great up there!!
I'd be interested in finding out how you liked the Simpson III...I'm planning on using that and the annex on the new trailer build. So far to date I've read pretty positive stuff.
Thanks, Pat
The tent is cool. No question. But honestly, if bears are a concern, sleep in the damn 4runner with a shotgun, not on top where you are separated by a few millimeters of nylon.
I don't camp very often, but the last time I went I slept in the back of a Ford Expedition. There was plenty of room for me on an inflatable air bed, and my stuff fit nicely in the front passenger seat. I even tied a large tarp over the SUV so I wasn't woken up early by the sunlight. The 4runner seems to have enough room to fit a full sized air bed in the back with the seats folded down. I plan on doing this when I finally end up taking it camping. It'd make more sense (for me at least) to sleep in the car and put my baggage on the roof (not vise versa).
We were grilling up a little cow that may have attracked those bears...

say again... what is it? i see a tail, but...
I thought the 4runner roof was only rated at 200 pounds. Even by myself I'm over that limit.

RJSD, do you have the part numbers for the baja expedition rack and mounts that would fit the 5th gen? Are you planning on using the existing mounting holes?
